Michael
A. Aun, FIC, LUTCF, CSP, CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame is a man of varying
background. He has presided over a real estate and development firm
and a life insurance practice that now expands throughout some 20 offices
representing some 35,000 clients in 96 cities in central Florida. He
is a Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and
is the recipient of the Master Agency Award, the highest award given
by the GAMA (General Agents And Managers Association). He has been in
the life insurance business since 1974, all with the same company, the
Knights of Columbus.
Michael Aun doesn't give book reports. He does the things he speaks
about. His column, "Behind The Mike," has been syndicated
in some 60 periodicals for over a quarter century. He is the author
of six books including his latest, "The Toastmasters International
Guide To Successful Speaking," which is about to be reprinted again
with a new and updated version that will include a dozen handbooks.
His six book, "The Leader Ship," will be also be published
soon.
In 1978, Michael Aun won the World Championship of Public Speaking for
Toastmasters International, defeating some eight other speakers representing
some 175,000 Toastmasters from the 65 country Toastmasters International
speaking world. He is a member of the Toastmasters International Speakers
Hall of Fame.
In 1983, he earned the CSP (Certified Speaking Professional ) designation
awarded by the National Speakers Association. In 1989, that 4,000 member
world wide organization elected him to their Board of Directors.
In August 2000, Michael received the highest honor in the speaking profession
from the National Speakers Association, the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame.
Only five speakers are awarded the CPAE (Council of Peers Award of Excellence)
each year.
The CPAE is the "Oscar" of the speaking profession. Other
recepients include former President Ronald Reagan, Art Linkletter, Paul
Harvey, Dr. Kenneth McFarland, Earl Nightingale, Og Mandino, Cavett
Robert, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins and others.
Fewer than 200 speakers have been awarded the CPAE. Only one other speaker
in history (Cavett Robert) has received the CSP and CPAE as well as
winning the World Championship of Public Speaking.
In 2001, Michael Aun began an his acting career, enjoying his first
paid acting assignment as "The Governor" in the made-for-broadway
musical "Lizzie." He is currently engaged in a number of other
acting opportunities as well.
